Walker College Alumni Day
2009 alumni day - Monday, February 9
The annual Lewis L. Mack Alumni Day is designed with the idea that every class in the Walker College of Business would be taught by one of our business graduates. Students benefit from the interaction with someone in the world of business and our graduates enjoy learning more about the exciting events taking place in our college. Alumni Day also helps identify prospective recruiters and internship sponsors.
The 2008 Alumni Day was no exception. Held February 11, the 2008
event brought nearly 50 alumni to Walker classrooms. You can view photos from the day here.
Participants from surrounding cities, including Charlotte, Winston Salem and Raleigh, met in Boone on February 10 during a welcome reception sponsored by the College. Following breakfast the next day, classes taught by the participants began at 9 am and continued until 5 p.m. Alumni were served lunch and were treated to special presentations throughout the day, including a university construction update from Vice Chancellor Greg Lovins and student presentations by the Bowden Investment Group and by the Professional Financial Planning Group.
Thanks to the alumni who sacrificed their time and energy to give back
to Appalachian students this year through this program. Please consider
getting involved in Alumni Day 2009. Registration information will be
available via this website in the fall.
