Alumna's book nominated for 2012 Small Business Book Award Restaurants are an eternal industry. Every town has at least one, whether mom and pop or corporate chain. Spring Commencement: ARHS President Richard Sparks '76 to address Walker College graduates Richard Sparks ’76 MGT ’78 MBA, president of Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, will be the commencement speaker for the Walker College of Business during graduation ceremonies Sunday, May 8. Walker grad takes over Atlanta hospital Leslie "Les" A. Donahue '79 MGT '80 MBA was recently named president and chief executive officer of Piedmont Hospital, a major health care provider in Atlanta, Ga. The move is effective July 12, according to a press release. Donahue has served as president and CEO of St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., since 2006. Walker College APPlause Antony Farmer '96 MBA is set to become Winston-Salem Fire Department chief in December. His appointment was announced in October.
