As part of the 2015 Appalachian Energy Summit, scheduled for July 13-15 on the campus of Appalachian State University, the Appalachian Energy Center will host a student poster contest, and the deadline for submissions has been extended to May 22.
Students may submit an abstract on energy-related research or project to participate in the summit, providing a unique opportunity for selected students to showcase their achievements and research relating to energy.
Students from all disciplines and majors are welcome to submit a poster and compete for the top prize of $400. Selected students will earn unprecedented access to business partners and sponsors from across the Southeast during the event as well as free room and board, $50 travel stipend and t-shirt. All participants must be enrolled in a North Carolina university during the Spring Semester 2015. More information about the poster submission process.

About the Energy Summit
The July 13-15 event will be the fourth annual gathering for the University of North Carolina Energy Leadership Challenge. Campus leaders from North Carolina's 17 public institutions, six private university partners and select leaders from other states will convene to share best practices and build peer relationships. Hosted by Sustain Appalachian and sponsored by Houze, the conference aims to jumpstart a national transformative effort across higher education and will feature speakers including Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Amory B. Lovins and David W. Orr. More information.
