Walker College On-Campus MBA Program

All degree-seeking students taking graduate courses must make formal application to the Graduate School prior to enrolling in any graduate course work.  Applicants for admission to the MBA program should submit a complete application to the Graduate School by March 1 to be considered for 2nd summer session.

Criteria for admission are based on the complete application package that includes:

1. Appalachian Graduate School application,
2. Application fee,
3. Three recommendation forms,
4. Two official transcripts from every institution attended,
5. GMAT official test scores, and
6. Resumé. 

International students are required to submit TOEFL scores. Prospective applicants should address inquiries to the Cratis D. Williams Graduate School. 

Limited tuition scholarships are available and will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Admission Details

GMAT
The GMAT is required of all applicants to the MBA Program. Official GMAT scores should be sent directly from the testing company. Please note that Appalachian State University’s reference number is 5010. The GMAT is offered by appointment at computer based testing centers throughout North America and at selected international sites.

Information concerning the dates and places of these examinations, as well as registration information, can be obtained by contacting the testing centers on the campuses of major colleges and universities or at www.mba.com.

TOEFL
For international students, official documentation of the TOEFL scores is also required.

Resumé
A current resumé should accompany the application and include a history of work experience with emphasis on any managerial or leadership responsibilities and team projects.

Admission Decision
The evaluation process for each individual admission considers a combination of the application, GMAT score, recommendations, transcripts of academic performance, resumé, and TOEFL score (if applicable).  Applicants who are admitted should notify the Graduate School in writing by April 15 of their intent to enroll in the fall semester.

Computer Requirements
Students are strongly encouraged to have a laptop computer. Access to the wireless network is provided on campus and utilized in the College of Business.
