Dr. Lakshmi Iyer receives grant from Alex Lee, Inc

Dr. Lakshmi Iyer has received a grant from Alex Lee, Inc. and this funding will assist the Department of Computer Information Systems and the Walker College of Busines to offer, the Technovation for Good Summer Camp program. 

 Technovation for Good, a program for rising high school seniors, will be held on the campus of Appalachian State University from July 19th through August 1st, 2020.  The program, which is part of the Innovate for Good broader initiative, will offer hands-on, practical experience with Programming, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Mobile Application Development, and/or Internet of Things. This STEM-focused program offers students an opportunity to learn entrepreneurial and leadership skill sets, hear from local professionals, meet other students with similar career interests, and attend workshops to enhance IT skills in a residential college setting. Students will apply these skills to address social justice problems relevant to the local region and beyond. Most sessions will take place in the Walker College of Business, located in Peacock Hall.
