Description

Visit Rio de Janeiro and the magnificent Iguaçu Falls in an unforgettable program to Brazil this summer!  The 12 day program (May 9 to May 21), sponsored by the Walker College of Business, includes five nights at Iguaçu Falls (one of the 7 wonders of the modern world) and five nights in Rio de Janeiro.  The program focuses on renewable energy in Brazil and includes visits to the Itaipu dam and hydroelectric plant, as well as a visit to Brazil’s only nuclear power plant in Angra dos Reis.  There will be a side trip into Argentina for geology enthusiasts as we will visit mines in Wanda, which extract Imperial geodes. Applications will open in November. BUS 4055-101 – Brazil - Energy, Ecology and the Environment – 3 credit hours  Prereqs: 84 earned hours 
MBA 5020-101 – International Seminar on Brazil – 3 credit hours
MBA 5020-375 – International Seminar on Brazil – 3 credit hours

Credits (3 credit hours)

BUS 4055 - This course counts as an IB elective (major, approved, required or other), Sustainable Business minor elective, COB elective or upper level elective and fulfills the Global Issues requirement.

MBA 5020 - This 3 semester hour course fulfills the international requirement for the MBA program and is an elective for the international business concentration. 

Cost

$3,850.00(estimate)  Includes all air travel (domestic and international) all lodging, allowances for all meals, ground transportation and entrance fees. (This price is an estimate and may change due to COVID-19 protocols.) Additional Costs: $800.00 Includes summer tuition, personal expenses, passport, vaccinations, etc.
