BUS 2535/3535:Business and Society in Costa Rica: Sustainability (3 s.h.)

In this two week course, students will observe first-hand business practices in Costa Rica and evaluate their social context and environmental impact. We will visit eco-lodges, cultural tourism sites, national parks, community-based tourism projects and agricultural centers in Guanacaste and rural Alajuela, free trade zones, hospitals involved in medical tourism, business schools and government agencies in San José. Experience Costa Rican culture first-hand during two short homestays. Experience the natural beauty of the coast and mountains.

• BUS 2535 is a Gen Ed course in the Sustainability and Global Change Theme in the Local to Global Perspective
• BUS 3535 fulfills 3 semester hours of IB major or approved electives, 3000-level HOS elective, or upper-level COB elective credit.
