Description

This program gives students the opportunity to explore business, society, and sustainability in Japan through academic preparation, travel-based learning, and post- trip reflection. Students will visit sites in Tokyo and Okayama, engage with Japanese peers, and examine how organizations, institutions, and businesses in Japan respond to social and environmental challenges. The program is designed to help students connect what they research before departure with what they actually observe and experience in- country. Graduate students will complete additional analytical work with attention to sustainability and Sustainable Development Goal frameworks.

Courses

BUS 4055 – Business Society & Sustainability in Japan – 3 credit hours  Prereqs: 84 earned hours or permission of the instructor.
MBA 5020 – International Seminar on Japan – 3 credit hours

Credits (3 credit hours)

BUS 4055 - This course counts as an IB elective (major, approved, required or other), sustainable business minor elective, COB elective or upper level elective and fulfills the Global Issues requirement.

MBA 5020 - This 3 semester hour course fulfills the international requirement for the MBA program and is an elective for the international business and sustainable business concentration.  It is also an elective for the MSADA sustainability concentration.
