Netherlands - Sustainable Business Practices in Amsterdam - BUS 4055/MBA 5020

Description

This course consists of a trip to Amsterdam to gain an understanding of the process of measuring and reporting on sustainable business practices. The class incorporates oncampus class sessions with an international travel experience. During a 9-day period, each student on this trip will travel to Amsterdam and visit with an international accounting firm, to learn more the services it provides in the assessment of sustainable practices and reporting of sustainability performance results. To view examples sustainable practices, students will visit businesses and organizations that have implemented more sustainable operational models and/or practices, including those focused on the notion of "circularity"which emphasizes the use of regenerative resources and producing zero waste, as well as those focused on social and governance issues. Students will also visit cultural and historical sites in Amsterdam, some of which also emphasize sustainability.

MBA 5020: Sustainable Business Practices in Amsterdam - 3 credit hours (Pre-reqs: graduate status)

Credits (3 credit hours)

BUS 4055 - This course counts as an IB elective (major, approved, required or other), Sustainable Business minor or major concentration elective, COB elective or upper level elective and fulfills the Global Issues requirement.

MBA 5020 - This 3 semester hour course fulfills the international requirement for the MBA program and is an elective for the international business concentration.
