Sixth annual AITP silent auction is set
The Appalachian State student chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its 6th Annual Silent Auction fundraiser Monday, March 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Price Lake room on the second floor of Plemmons Student Union.
The auction will offer more than 150 donated items, including a Wii with Mario Kart, Xbox 360 Kinect, games, and Xbox Live 12-month Gold cards, pearl earrings, an HP deskjet printer, autographed sports memorabilia, Carowinds and Tweetsie tickets, gift cards for local restaurants and stores, and many other products and services from across the High Country.
AITP is a club for students interested in technology. The auction subsidizes the cost for students to attend the AITP National Collegiate Conference in San Antonio at the end of March. Costs associated with the trip will exceed $10,000. Students will be representing Appalachian in multiple technology-related competitions.
For the past five years, Appalachian students have won first and/or second place in these competitions, bringing home 25 national awards since 2007, including National Chapter of the Year in 2011. If you have questions or are able to make a donation for this event, please contact Dr. Scott Hunsinger, AITP Faculty Advisor.
