Football games, business classes on the third floor of Smith- Wright Hall, lots of friends and great professors, and seeing a notice on the bulletin board of the Placement Office Senior year which stated "YOU CAN BE A BANK EXAMINER". My favorite Walker College memory is…
Fresh out of High School, I entered Appalachian in the Fall of 1976. My first college class was Introduction to Business, in the first year that John A Walker Hall opened (If my memory is correct). I remember not being intimidated by the very large entry level class, but suddenly felt I belonged to an entirely new community. It was a great feeling and one that I still hold onto today.

My favorite Walker College memory is…
Walking to class in 1985 during the coldest winter in the history of Appalachian. Remember the snow drifts on either side of the sidewalk being taller than I was. Great memory!
