Revisioning Tourism for Good - Friday November 10, 2023
The 2023 Global Opportunities & Business for Good Conference will be held Friday, November 10, 10-11:45 a.m., in Plemmons Student Union Room 137 (Grandfather Mountain Ballroom).
Visitors to beautiful sites around the globe are enriched through their experiences. Yet that enrichment can come at a price for the environment and the local culture. But it doesn’t have to. Join us for this event to explore creative ways of engaging with the planet - both abroad and at home. Participants will learn about citizen science and regenerative tourism in the Arctic ecosystems of Norway, get an insider's perspective on building the local economy while preserving its natural beauty in coastal Jones County, NC, and find out about the potential positive impact of Boone’s first sustainable bed and breakfast. The Walker College of Business Global and Civic Engagement Awards Luncheon will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the Plemmons Student Union Room 420 (Parkway Ballroom), immediately following the conference.
