BOONE, N.C. — Cementing its reputation as a leader in business education, Appalachian State University enters the 2026–27 academic year with top honors from five major publications.

Fiscal years 2025 and 2026 mark the most successful fundraising years in App State’s history, with the university securing more than $50 million in private donations each year — funds that directly support App State students. During App State’s Spring 2024 Commencement, undergraduate students celebrated the tradition of moving their tassels as they joined the more than 147,000 alumni of the university. Just over 4,000 students graduated during the commencement ceremonies, which took place May 10 and 11 on the Boone campus.
