Armenia - Armenia in Transition - BUS 3045

This program will introduce students to Armenia - a country that is transitioning from a less-developed country into a developing country with a solid infrastructure, an established government, health care system, education & communication system, and a progressive commerce. Students will be engaged in the education process, visit businesses, participate in a community service project. as well have the opportunity to visit cultural sites and become immersed in the culture of the visiting country.

Belgium - International Entrepreneurship - ENT 3190

The focus of this course is on international entrepreneurship and the development of business plans. Approximately 15 ASU students will work with a similar number of students from the Universite Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. ASU students will visit Belgium in March. Belgian students will visit Boone for one week in early April. During the semester, groups composed of American and Belgian students will work together on business projects (they need at least 6-8 weeks between visits for the project work).

The Martha Guy Business for Good Fellows program aims to align with the Walker College of Business's mission of preparing and inspiring students to be ethical, innovative, and engaged business leaders. This experience is designed to empower our first-generation college students with practical skills and insights, enhancing their ability to positively impact local and global communities, in line with the college's commitment to producing business leaders who are conscientious about their societal and environmental responsibilities.

Netherlands - Sustainable Business Practices in Amsterdam - BUS 4055/MBA 5020

This course consists of a trip to Amsterdam to gain an understanding of the process of measuring and reporting on sustainable business practices. The class incorporates oncampus class sessions with an international travel experience. During a 9-day period, each student on this trip will travel to Amsterdam and visit with an international accounting firm, to learn more the services it provides in the assessment of sustainable practices and reporting of sustainability performance results.

France - Angers Summer Business Program - BUS 3045 & MKT 3240

On this program, offered in collaboration with the Université d'Angers, students will take classes with Angers business students and learn international business skills and study international brand management, while experiencing French culture and language. Excursions include visits to landmarks in Angers, the Loire valley and Paris. The program starts at the train station in Angers, France and ends at the subway station in Paris, France.

Bermuda - International Insurance Markets - FIN 4800

Travel to Bermuda is the one-week experiential portion of FIN 4800 International Insurance Markets.  Bermuda's economy is based on tourism and financial services. It is the largest domicile for captive insurers and home to some of the world's largest reinsurance companies.  During students' time in Bermuda, they will visit reinsurers, brokers, regulators, and historical sites. In addition to business visits, students will also visit the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS). BIOS is a research and educational institution focusing on our oceans and the changing climate.

UK - London International Insurance Markets - FIN 4800

Travel to London is the experiential portion of the spring semester course, FIN 4800 International Insurance Markets. This course will analyze the transfer of risk from businesses operating in this country, through the insurance market mechanism, to ultimate risk bearers abroad. The overriding design of the course is to follow the insurance transaction from main street U.S.A. through the standard markets, surplus lines markets, and reinsurance markets. London is home to many of the world's largest insurers and reinsurers.

Cuba - Business & Society in Cuba/Entrepreneurship Study Abroad in Cuba - BUS 3045/ENT 3600

Visit culturally significant sites in Havana; learn about the Cuban economy, health care and education systems as well as US-Cuba relations from University of Havana professors; visit a cigar factory; visit the Valley of Vinales - Cuba's tobacco growing region; and so much MORE! Students will participate in lectures at the University of Havana. These lectures will cover topics such as the history of Cuba and Cuba-US relations, the Effects of the Embargo, Sustainable Energy in Cuba, Entrepreneurship in Cuba, etc.

Belém, Brazil - United Nations Climate Negotiations - ECO 4530/ECO 5530

United Nations Climate Change Negotiations Course

Students are selected for the UN Climate Negotiations course and program through a competitive application process. The program is offered through the Walker College of Business and welcomes students from all disciplines. The course familiarizes students with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the annual Conference of the Parties (COP). Each fall, a delegation of students and faculty from App State travel to the COP and participate in the negotiations.
