Here in the Walker College of Business, we're committed to shaping the next generation of business leaders. Through our Building Leaders Initiative, we are creating a cutting-edge academic home for the future business leaders of North Carolina.
As part of this effort, for one year only, we are inviting our most dedicated supporters to join us in honoring our past while inspiring future generations. By making your Dean’s Club Legacy Leader or Impact Partner gift, you will help us reach our goal of raising over $1 million to support the academic home of future business leaders. In recognition of your generosity, you will receive one of the 200 glass blocks preserved from the iconic glass block wall that served as a trademark feature of Peacock Hall.

Celebrating Architectural Excellence
At the time of its completion in 1990, then Raley Hall, now Peacock, was celebrated for its bold design and iconic glass block wall. Now, as we look to the future, we're offering Dean's Club members at the Legacy Leader an Impact Partner levels the opportunity to own a piece of the building's legacy — the original glass blocks — while helping build a space that empowers the next generation of business leaders in North Carolina.
Honoring Strong Leadership
Dr. Kenneth E. Peacock served as the fifth Dean of Walker College from 1992-2003. He established the Dean's Club, the annual giving society that supports key programming, faculty and staff in the college, all while putting “students first,” his favorite slogan. As the sixth chancellor of the university, from 2004-2014, Dr. Peacock kept the Walker College at the forefront of his work, making Appalachian a destination of choice for high-achieving, intellectually curious, and engaged business students. Upon his retirement in June 2014, Raley Hall was renamed Peacock Hall in his honor.
You will receive a glass block when you join the Dean’s Club or renew your Dean’s Club membership at the Legacy Leader or Impact Partner level between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Other benefits also include:
