Research Grants

Dean's Club Grants

The Walker College of Business Dean's Club funds research grants each academic year to assist faculty in conducting research. Grants are available to tenured and tenure track faculty for research expenses in increments of $1,000. Each recipient will be asked to participate in a Dean's Club Grant Recipient Poster Session event. Learn more.

University Research Council (URC) Grants

Each year, a portion of the facilities & administrative (F&A) or indirect funds generated by external grants and contracts are used to support faculty research activities with grant awards of up to $5,000. The University Research Council reviews proposals and makes funding recommendations to the Chief Research Officer. Learn more.

Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award

App State is an associate member of Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Up to two junior faculty members from the university are eligible to apply for the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards annually. The one-year grants (June 1 to May 31) enrich young faculty's research and professional growth in five technical areas:  Engineering and applied science, Life sciences, Mathematics/computer sciences, Physical sciences, and Policy, management, or education. The award amount provided by ORAU is $5,000, and the applicant's institution must match the award with at least an additional $5,000. Learn more.

Instructional Innovation Grants

Business faculty and staff with instructional responsibilities are encouraged to submit proposals for the Walker College's Innovation Grants for Transformational Educational Experiences Promoting Engagement and Impact. The grant awards foster educational engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify the impact of Walker College of Business education. Learn more.

Fulbright Scholar Program

The Fulbright Scholar Program offers over 500 teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 125 countries. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others. In addition to several new program models designed to meet the changing needs of U.S. academics and professionals, Fulbright is offering more opportunities for flexible, multi-country grants.
