Application Process
- Complete an application at graduate.appstate.edu/apply-now. Each application requires:
- Official transcripts from all universities attended (including any other Master’s degree earned).
- Three letters of recommendation.
- A resume.
- A GMAT Score*
- Applications are reviewed by the MSA admissions committee. You will receive an email from the Cratis Williams School of Graduate Studies indicating your admission selection.
- Admitted students will also receive an email from the MSA program director with information about orientation, as well as scholarship and assistantship opportunities. Students should set up an appointment with the MSA program director to create a program of study and begin the registration process.
Required Prerequisite Courses
Undergraduate prerequisite courses do not have to be completed prior to beginning graduate course work in the MSA program. Read more.

November 1, general concentrations only
Summer Session 2 Admission
April 1, priority deadline is March 15
Fall Admission
July 1, priority deadline is March 15
GMAT Waiver
*In some cases, the GMAT requirement may be waived. The final decision to waive the entrance exam is made by the Graduate School. For the MSA program, waivers will be considered for students who meet one of the following criteria:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher in an undergraduate accounting degree program from an accredited school, OR
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in an undergraduate degree program plus 5 or more years of professional work or military experience.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in an undergraduate program and a certification with a quantitative focus (CPA, CMA, CFP, etc.)
