Twelve Appalachian State University business students have been named 2024 Holland Fellows; they will participate in an international business exchange program to Asia.
Founded in 1996, the Holland Fellows Program is named for the late William R. Holland, businessman and honorary App State alumnus.
The students were selected from "one of the most competitive candidate pools in recent years," according to Management and Entrepreneurship Lecturer Jesse Pipes, who leads the program.
The 2024 program will span the spring semester with classroom and field work, followed by a summer international business experience in Hong Kong, Cambodia and Thailand.
"Students will focus on the pressing issues impacting global retail, business sustainability and overlapping societal challenges," said Pipes. "Through collaborations with regional and global businesses, students will explore the tactics involved in accelerating tangible action across socio-environmental sustainability priorities."
The program has long provided a forum for conversation and innovation between students, faculty and industry leaders.
