Accounting graduate students explore regulatory and legal accounting in Washington, DC

Graduate students and faculty from Appalachian State University's Department of Accounting were in Washington, D.C., during the university's spring break March 10-14, 2025.

Drs. Pennie Bagley, Kevin Eller, and Brian Hasson led the students on the annual experience, which allows MS in Accounting students to visit key institutions like the U.S. Tax Court, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), gaining firsthand insights into the regulatory and legal side of accounting.

Beyond the professional visits, students also had the opportunity to explore the city’s rich history and view national monuments.
