Accounting student organization earns first-ever "Platinum" recognition

Appalachian State University’s Epsilon Kappa chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) has been recognized as a Platinum chapter for the first time in its 47-year history. Platinum is the highest honor awarded by BAP, the international honor organization for financial information students and professionals.

The recognition was announced at the 2025 Beta Alpha Psi Annual Meeting, where only 10 of the organization’s 325 active chapters earned the status.

The Epsilon Kappa chapter’s achievement marks a significant milestone, reflecting decades of sustained excellence and a recent surge in innovation, leadership, and engagement.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and commitment of our student leaders,” said faculty advisor Dr. Brian Hasson. “Our chapter has consistently met the standards of a Gold Chapter since the mid-1980s, and this year, our students went above and beyond to demonstrate what makes Epsilon Kappa truly exceptional.”

To qualify, chapters must meet rigorous criteria, including consecutive Gold chapter status, participation in mid-year and annual meetings, and involvement in national initiatives.

App State's BAP officers submitted a video presentation showcasing the chapter’s strategic goals, innovative programming, and commitment to continuous improvement.
