App State finance students earn first place in Quinnipiac GAME Forum

Appalachian State University students competed for the first time in the Quinnipiac GAME Forum for the first time in the school's history and won First Place in the 2021 Small Fund category of the Student Managed Investment Fund Competition.

The students -- Donovan Arnold, Cooper Bumgarner, Katie Cole, Sam King and Bradley Lovelace -- are members of Appalachian's Bowden Investment Group (BIG) and students in the Walker College of Business' Department of Finance and Banking. They presented the BIG management experience and the Bowden Investment Fund's performance to a panel of industry experts as part of the Quinnipiac GAME.

"We are proud of the presentation team, their cohort, and previous cohorts that contributed to the success of the fund," said faculty advisor Dr. Brandy Hadley. "The Bowden Investment Group and its alumni have another BIG win to celebrate!"

About Appalachian's Bowden Investment Group

Bowden Student Managed Investment Fund was established in January 2000 in the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance at Appalachian State University and financial donations from alumni, faculty, businesses and other supporters have added to the fund's total net assets.
