BIT Program aims to develop insurance talent in students from underrepresented groups

The Brantley Center for Risk Management & Insurance, housed in the Walker College of Business' Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance, is offering the Building Insurance Talent (BIT) program to Appalachian State University first-year, sophomore and transfer students who are interested in RMI or Actuarial Science.

BIT is a fully-funded 8-week program (~1 hr/week) for students from underrepresented backgrounds that aims to introduce them to the insurance industry and connect them with fellow students. The program includes professional development events, networking opportunities, and community-building meals with virtual conversation. The program culminates with a 2021 trip to New York City, pending restrictions from COVID-19.
