Bootcamp gets App State business students career fair-ready

On March 19, the Walker College of Business held a Career Fair Boot Camp for students in preparation for the Walker Spring Connect event on March 21

Four panelists from a variety of industries joined Walker College undergraduate and graduate students to discuss tips and strategies on how to work a career fair.

Panelists shared best practices gained from years of experience attending and working collegiate career fairs across the Southeast. The panelists included Jason Johnson from CH Robinson, Mark Crabb from National General Insurance, Sarah Bruet from Fast Enterprises and Brittanie Joyner from BlueCross BlueShield.

The panel discussion was followed by break-out sessions for students by Business Career Services coaches. Each coach focused on select majors to discuss in detail the companies attending and their recruitment needs.

Students put their knowledge to the test at the second annual Spring Connect on Thursday, March 21. More than 100 companies were on site recruiting for part-time, full-time and internship positions in the Holmes Convocation Center. More than 1,100 students participated.
