Phil Ostwalt, '83, will speak on the campus of Appalachian State University April 1 (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) in the Linville Falls room of the Plemmons Student Union. Mr. Ostwalt will discuss his experiences as a forensic accountant and observations about careers in fraud investigations, litigation support, risk compliance, and related careers associated with the prevention and detection of financial crimes. This emerging area offers career opportunities that span financial institutions, multi-national corporations, state and federal law enforcement, accounting firms and consulting firms.
Mr. Ostwalt is a partner at KPMG and serves as the U.S. Investigations Service Network leader and is the global coordinator for investigations for the global forensic practice. Ostwalt is also a member of the Walker College of Business Advisory Council (BAC). The event, which is free and open to students of all majors and the communiy, is co-hosted by the Department of Accounting and the Department of Government and Justice Studies.
