Business majors invited to September workshops to hone skills before Business Career Week

Business Career Services, housed in Appalachian State University's Walker College of Business, will host a series of professional development workshops for undergraduate business majors, mainly this September. Each event features career, professional and leadership development advice, and the events lead up to Business Career Week, scheduled to be held Sept. 27-Oct. 4, 2021. 

Business students are encouraged to attend as many professional development series (PDS) events as their schedules permit.

Handshake How-tos

Handshake is ASU’s job search platform. As with LinkedIn, Appalachian students have a profile where they can include professional, educational, and co-curricular experiences. In addition to using Handshake to search for jobs, students can learn about and connect with companies as well as with students from other universities all over the world. Learn how to make Handshake work for you and maximize your chances of getting hired! 

Interview Skills

How to Work a Career Fair

Learn strategies to make the most of your time at the career fair. Recruiting employers will answer questions in a panel format about what to expect at a career fair. At 6pm Career Coaches will offer break out sessions so you can find out who's coming to Walker Business Connections.
