Business students attend Risk and Insurance Management Society Convention

Four Appalachian business students recently attended the Fall 2015 Southeastern Risk and Insurance Management Society (SE RIMS) Convention in Pinehurst, NC. The convention, held August 19 - 21, was the 46th annual conference and was hosted by the Piedmont RIMS Chapter.

The students are Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) majors in the Walker College of Business. They were accompanied by Appalachian Insurance Professor Dave Wood.

Conference participantsDuring the convention the students networked with industry leaders and risk managers from across the Carolinas and participated in the educational sessions.

Senior Boris Salvador Maldonado addressed the group about the impact of the Spencer Education Foundation scholarship. The Spencer Educational Foundation's mission is to fund the education of tomorrow's risk management and insurance industry leaders.
