Carly Court '25 — Leading early, building connections

There is no question that Carly Court is a hard worker. Her diligence and commitment to her studies in high school, community college, and at Appalachian State University allowed her to graduate with her bachelor’s degree at just 20 years old.

In the Walker College of Business, Carly served as president of the Student Transfer Club—an experience she says prepared her for life after college. “Every member was new, and we had zero funds,” she said. “But we made friends, memories, and set up enough money for a strong start next semester.”

Along the way, Carly found inspiration and support from the Department of Accounting. “The professors I had are outstanding teachers and inspirational people,” she said. “I’m grateful to have had such great faculty and peers by my side, and I made some great friends in the accounting major.”

Her advice to future Mountaineers? “Continue to work hard, always be curious, and never care what anyone else thinks or says.”

Looking ahead, Carly plans to complete an internship in Rochester, NY, attend graduate school next fall, and work toward earning her CPA license.

Carly’s story reflects the Walker College’s commitment to empowering students to lead, connect, and achieve their goals.

Carly is one of 399 December 2025 graduates of the Walker College of Business. Read more student stories: business.appstate.edu/news/students.
