Cazier first business professor to be inducted into Appalachian's Academy of Outstanding Graduate Mentors

Dr. Joseph Cazier, professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems and Supply Chain Management and director of the Center for Analytics Research and Education (CARE) has been selected by the Appalachian State University's Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies as one of two 2017-2018 inductees into the Academy of Outstanding Graduate Mentors.

The Academy of Outstanding Graduate Mentors was established to recognize graduate faculty members for exemplary mentoring activities well beyond good classroom and laboratory instruction or research supervision of graduate students. Nominees were evaluated on ability to impart knowledge and to inspire inquisitiveness and the desire for continued learning, concern for students' intellectual growth, concern for students' personal and professional development, history of significant mentoring over an extended period of time.

Cazier is the first faculty member from the Walker College of Business to receive the award.

Cazier will be recognized at the Graduate School Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the Plemmons Student Union (Parkway Ballroom) on the campus of Appalachian State University.
