The Boone Chamber of Commerce will honor nine local leaders and businesses at its 75th Annual Membership Gathering on Thursday, September 12. Three individuals are Appalachian State University alumni.
The 2024 Spirit of Boone Community Award Winners are:
- Alfred Adams Award for Economic Development: Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute
- Kathy Crutchfield Citizen of the Year: Tina Houston
- Sue Wilmoth Award for the Advancement of Tourism: Mystery Hill
- Ben Suttle Special Services Award: Jesse Miller
- Baker/Jones Woman of the Year: Talia Freeman
- Wade Brown Award for Community Involvement: Come Back Shack
- Dan Meyer Partnership Award: Charles Hardin
- everGREEN Award for Sustainability: RiverGirl Fishing Company
- Elizabeth Young Award for Community Leadership: Lindsey Sullivan
Charles Harden, Lindsey Sullivan, and CCC&TI President Mark Poarch are App State alumni.
