Computer Information Systems faculty earn research accolades and service appointments at international conferences

Faculty members from the Department of Computer Information Systems and Supply Chain Management earned research accolades and service appointments during the 2016 International Education Special Interest Group Conference (EDSIGCON) and Conference on Information Systems Applied Research (CONISAR), held concurrently November 6-9, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV.

Darin Hodges and Ken Corley won a distinguished paper award at EDSIGCON for their paper, "Why Women Choose Not to Major in Information Systems," which will be published in the Information Systems Education JournalCharlie Chen and Chris Taylor earned the distinguished paper award for their paper, "The Effects of Perceived Functionality and Usability on Privacy and Security Concerns about Adopting Cloud Applications," which will be published in the Journal of Information Systems Applied Research. Both papers ranked in the top 10% of submissions for their respective conferences.

Scott Hunsinger was appointed director of Information Systems Computing and Academic Professionals, a non-profit organization responsible for the management of the two academic conferences and three peer-reviewed journals. After leading AITP-EDSIG since January 2015 as president, Hunsinger will serve in the past president role on the EDSIG Board of Directors for two years beginning January 1, 2017 and will continue as senior editor of the Journal of Information Systems Applied Research. Having served on the AITP national board of directors since 2015, Hunsinger has now been appointed to the AITP/CompTIA Transition Task Force to help transition AITP to CompTIA, which became the parent of AITP November 1. CompTIA is a non-profit trade association that advances the global interests of information technology professionals and organizations, offering multiple credentials and certifications including the A+, Network+, and Security+ exams.
