Dr. Kristl Davison has been named assistant chair of the Department of Management in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.
In her new role, Davison will serve alongside Dr. Mark Lewis, who chairs the department. She takes over for Dr. Rachel Shinnar, who previously served as assistant chair since 2018.
As assistant chair, Davison will represent the department and help committees achieve short-term and long-term objectives. She will also assist with departmental advising for students who need guidance in the field.

Davison joined App State’s faculty in 2018 and is an associate professor in the department. She is a past Sywassink Awardee for excellence in research. Her research explores contemporary issues in human resource management like machine learning, counterproductive workplace behaviors, and innovations in training and hiring. Davison earned her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from Tulane University.
