Executive Impact Club presents proceeds of annual fundraiser to Watauga Humane Society

The Executive Impact Club at Appalachian State University recently presented a check in the amount of $665 to representatives of the Watauga Humane Society. The money was raised during the club's annual "Mustache & Flannel" event, which has benefited a local organization since its inception in 2015.

The Executive Impact Club provides opportunities for professional growth to the community of graduate students studying business at Appalachian. These experiences include networking, learning and hearing from local professionals, anticipating in intramural sports, and serving the community through service projects. The club, which is comprised of MBA, MS of Accounting, and MS of Applied Data Analytics students, promotes integrity, philanthropy, insight, networking and balance.

The Mustache & Flannel event is held annually at  Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone, NC.

"Thanks Appalachian Mountain Brewery for their continued support of this event," said Computer Information Systems & Supply Chain Management Lecturer Darin Hodges, who serves as faculty advisor to the group. "The hard work of our student members and the support of our faculty, staff and community members made the donation to this great cause possible."

The Watauga Humane Society aims to provide: a well-equipped and appropriately staffed facility where the citizens of Watauga County can bring unwanted and abandoned animals; relief of suffering among animals; provisions for food, shelter, medical care, and love to homeless animals while they await permanent homes; assistance with control of unwanted animals by offering low-cost spay/neuter services; and education to the public about responsible animal ownership and care.
