Finance professor to speak at 2023 High Country Economic Kickoff Luncheon

Dr. Harry Davis, a professor of banking in the Walker College of Business, will deliver the keynote address at the 7th Annual High Country Economic Kickoff Luncheon on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

The event -- hosted by Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, and the Watauga County Economic Development Commission -- will begin at 11:00 am in the Grandview Ballroom, located in App State's North Endzone Facility.

Dr. Davis, a longtime Appalachian State Walker College of Business faculty member and member of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, will deliver a 2023 High Country Economic Forecast. Dr. Davis is a regionally renowned economist and serves as both Dean and Instructor for the North Carolina School of Banking.

The event, presented by Peak Insurance Group, will also feature a talk by Eric Woolridge, AICP, Director of Planning and Business Development, Destination by Design. Event support comes from Appalachian Commercial Real Estate, Allen Wealth Management, Skyline National Bank, and Jackson Sumner & Associates.
