Five named top performers in Walker College's latest Excel challenge

The Walker College of Business has named five top performers in its Walker COB Excel Challenge held on October 28, 2025.

The challenge tested students' proficiency in Microsoft Excel and problem-solving skills, crucial tools for success in today's global business environment.

Students competed to complete a series of increasingly complex tasks that required quick thinking, problem-solving, and Excel knowledge.

The top performers demonstrated technical mastery and speed. The students are:

  • Ben Blau (Accounting)
  • Avery Clark (Marketing)
  • Brennan Fisher (Supply Chain Management)
  • Lauren Luca (Finance & Banking)
  • Conner Perdue (Master of Business Administration)

"Congratulations to Avery, Lauren, Conner, Ben, and Brennan, and to all students who participated in the Walker Excel Challenge," said Dr. Chris McNeil, who coordinates the program for the college. "Their efforts highlight their commitment to building valuable skills."

The Walker Excel Challenge reinforces the college’s commitment to provide students with practical, in-demand skills that employers highly value.

Upcoming opportunities to compete

The Walker COB Excel Challenge will return in Spring 2026.

Competition tasks are not specific to any specific area of study; students of all majors are invited to participate and compete for prizes.
