Food Solutions Challenge to be held March 8

Students and community members can attend the Local Food Solutions Challenge, an interactive event for making advances toward a carbon neutral food supply chain on the campus of Appalachian State University. The challenge will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Holland International Engagement Room on the 4th Floor of Peacock Hall.

Sponsored by Net Impact and hosted by Appalachian's undergraduate Net Impact chapter, the event will provide a forum for discussing connections between themes such as food production, climate change and the need to feed a growing world. Student participants will work together to follow a food product through the agricultural supply chain and come up with solutions to reduce the carbon impact of food production.

Event participants will vote on one solution to enter into the Global Food Solutions Challenge for a chance to incubate the idea at an all-expense-paid global food solutions conference in April.

Participants will be entered to win great raffle prizes, including an iPad, Beats headphones, cash prizes and more.

Register online or view the Facebook Event. For more information, contact Net Impact President Kelsey Simon, simonkn@appstate.edu
