IIANC continues support of Brantley Risk & Insurance Center and RMI students

The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) has made a $70,000 gift to the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center at Appalachian State University. Aubie Knight, CEO of IIANC, presented the check to Walker College of Business Dean Heather Norris on Oct. 18.

IIANC contributes annually to support the operations of the Brantley Center, which prepares Appalachian  students to become industry leaders through programs including student interview guidance, resume production techniques and teaching networking and "soft skills" that complement rigorous academic coursework. 

"IIANC remains committed to making sure that young people in North Carolina have access to top-notch education in Risk Management  and Insurance," said Knight. "We are honored to continue this long-standing partnership with Appalachian and the Brantley Center."

Present for the check presentation were (pictured from left) Brantley Center Associate Director Greg Langdon, Walker College of Business Dean Heather Norris, IIANC Distinguished Professor David Marlett, Brantley Center Director Karen Epermanis, IIANC Board Member John Hall, Gamma Iota Sigma member Emily Bunton, Brantley Center Board Member Neil Annas, Gamma Iota Sigma President Cecilia Yanez,  IIANC CEO Aubie Knight, and Brantley Center Executive-in-Residence Stuart Powell.

IIANC is the founding strategic partner of the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center. The annual support of the IIANC and its members, along with the IIANC Education Foundation, helps ensure Appalachian's RMI program continues to be the flagship program for insurance in the UNC System.
