Improvements to Peacock Hall

Business students returning to Appalachian this fall will find their “home away from home” in a new and improved state. Peacock Hall, the home of the Walker College of Business, is undergoing extensive renovations this summer, which will provide a more inviting and comfortable physical environment conducive to learning, conducting research, and networking among students, faculty, staff and the broader community. The updates, which will include are expected to be complete prior to the beginning of the fall 2015 semester. Some of the highlights include:

  • A redesigned lobby area and the Broyhill "Living Room," a comfortable and attractive networking space for students, faculty, staff and visitors. This new space will replace the student lounges housed on the second and third floors;

  • More flexible learning environments in selected existing classrooms and new "break-out" areas to facilitate group learning;

  • Renovated career services and student advising areas to add office space and improve functionality.
