Local business donates shoes for international partner

Students from the Walker College of Business will travel to Cuba during fall break with management professor Rachel Shinnar and supply chain management lecturer Darin Hodges. The students, who will visit Korimakao, an art school near the city of Matazans, and will bring along gifts of dance shoes to students in the school's department of dance.

Local partner Dancey's Comfort Footwear of Boone donated the shoes.

The group will spend four days in Havana, participating in lectures at the Center for Research of the Cuban Economy, making visits to local entrepreneurs, and exploring historical and cultural sites. They will then travel to Pinar del Rio for three days to visit natural landmarks, local tobacco growers and organic farms.
