Management student to present research at National Conference on Undergraduate Research

Elizabeth Fowler Appalachian State UniversityElizabeth Fowler, senior management major with minors in supply chain management and international business, will present her research at the 30th annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). The abstract, "The Creation of a Social Enterprise: An Exploratory Case Study," has been selected for presentation at the national conference to be held April 7-9 at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

Fowler's research is part of her senior honors thesis that examines how to create and build a social enterprise with a mission to provide clean water to communities in need. Fowler is recipient of a research grant to support her data collection from Appalachian State University's Office of Student Research. She is working with faculty advisors, Betty S. Coffey and Heather Dixon-Fowler, Department of Management, to complete the qualitative case study.

Chosen from more than 4,000 submissions, Fowler will present her work to peers, faculty and staff from across the United States. NCUR creates a unique environment at the annual conference for the celebration and promotion of undergraduate student research and scholarship in all fields of academic study. A member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Fowler's hometown is Lexington, North Carolina.
