Marketing professor earns teaching award from UNC Board of Governors

Six App State faculty members were recently honored by the UNC Board of Governors with campus-based awards for their innovative teaching methods in the classroom and for making a difference in the way students learn. Among them was Dr. Bonnie Guy -- a professor in the Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management.

Dr. Guy teaches consumer behavior, international marketing and marketing strategy in the Walker College. She has previously been honored by the college, having earned the 2020 Sywassink Award for Excellence in teaching. Dr. Guy holds the John W. Guffey Jr. Professorship.

Dr. Guy's research interests include older consumers and cognitive processing and consumer ambivalence, among others. Her service the university includes having launched and maintained the Professional Selling Program at Appalachian. Dr. Guy earned a BBA in marketing and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University and a PhD in marketing from the University of Nebraska.
