MBA Alumni Highlight: Carlie Sheffield

Carlie Sheffield '16 is a business analyst and brilliant factory leader at GE Aviation in Asheville, North Carolina. GE Aviation makes rotating parts and ceramic matrix composites (CMC) for engines.

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Carlie attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management with minors in Supply Chain Management and Leadership Studies. In 2016, she graduated from Appalachian's MBA program, where she completed a concentration in Business Analytics.

In her current role, Carlie works to deploy digital tools to the manufacturing environment, machine connectivity and data collection for sensor enablement, and data analysis and reporting. She has worked for GE Aviation since August 2016.

In her spare time, she likes to adventure in the mountains by hiking and tubing. She also volunteers as a YoungLife leader in Hendersonville, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
