MBA Alumni Highlight: Katherine Horvath

Katherine "Katie" Horvath '15, '16 is a Supplier Quality Control Specialist working for Bertrandt Engineering at the BMW US Manufacturing Company, the largest BMW facility in the world. She attended Appalachian State University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science: Pre-Professional Legal Studies with a minor in Violin Performance in 2015, and her Master of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in International Business in 2016.

Since childhood, Katie has always had a passion for traveling and learning through cultural experiences, which is what inevitably peaked her interest in global business. After studying abroad in undergrad and graduate school, she realized that she could utilize this passion in her career to be a liaison between companies in the United States and overseas. The MBA program at Appalachian provided her with the necessary communication and business skills to manage supplier relations within the supply chain of an international corporation.

Katie is an active member of the cycling community in North Carolina and - as someone who has benefited from mentorship - she has aspirations to be a mentor, providing leadership development to others.
