MBA Alumni Highlight: Ken Crews

Ken Crews ‘99 is Vice President of Human Resources at Lexington Home Brands, a global leader in the design, sourcing, manufacturing and lifestyle marketing of upscale home furnishings. He has over 35 years of human resources and operations management experience across industries, including: manufacturing, supply chain, technology, and consumer product goods.

Ken received his MBA degree from the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations and Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill. He holds certifications as Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Ken has previously served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Society for Human Resource Management (NC SHRM) and Winston-Salem SHRM.  He is an Adjunct Instructor at both Duke University and Forsyth Technical Community College teaching the SHRM Exam Prep course.

In 2017, Ken received the Lifetime Achievement Award by NC SHRM and was inducted into the NC SHRM Hall of Fame for his achievement and service to the HR profession in North Carolina.

Ken currently resides in Kernersville, NC with his wife, Theresa, where he is active in the local community as a past Board Chair of the United Way of Davidson County.  Ken has also served leadership roles on the boards of American Red Cross, DataMax Foundation, Goodwill Industries NWNC, Second Harvest Food Bank NWNC and Twin City Kiwanis Club.
