MBA Alumni Highlight: Lauren Harper

Lauren Harper 12’ received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and her MBA from Appalachian State University. After graduate school, Lauren was an associate in BB&T’s Leadership Development Program where she received extensive training in financial services. She served as a branch manager and business advisor for BB&T in Charlottesville, VA from November 2012 – April 2014. Having been a Division 1 scholarship collegiate athlete (Women’s Soccer), she loves to stay active.

She continued her career in finance by joining Janney Montgomery Scott in May of 2014 as a partner in the Raleigh-based team – Livengood Strategic Wealth Advisors. Since joining the firm, she has earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and AWMA designations. Lauren also utilizes her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation to serve a unique niche of the market – female divorcees. In addition to advisory services and business development, she is responsible for marketing, advertising, and client relations for the practice. Lauren and her partners have seen team revenue more than double in the last 5 years.

Lauren credits her ASU MBA with kick starting her love for financial services and launching a very successful career.
