LeAnne Byers Hill '15 is a senior associate in operations risk at Grant Thornton, one of the world's leading organizations in independent audit, tax, and advisory. Part of the Risk Advisory Services at the organization, LeAnne uses her analytical skills to process and manipulate data to answer critical client questions and improve systems for large banks and financial institutions. LeAnne also develops and validates predictive models used in liquidity and capital planning processes using specialized statistical computing and analytics software such as SAS and R.
LeAnne attended Appalachian State University where she received a bachelor's degree in History and Religious Studies before completing her MBA with a concentration in Data Analytics in 2015.
Born and raised in Rutherford County, NC, LeAnne developed a love for education and, from an early age, was determined to graduate from college. She began her college career with the intention of becoming a professional historian, but after graduation, she developed an interest in project management that led her to enroll in Appalachian's MBA program. It was her exposure to the data analytics and quantitative analysis classes that led LeAnne to pursue a concentration in Data Analytics and receive a SAS certification.
LeAnne has a passion for service and improving the lives of the marginalized and underserved. She is part of both the Women at Grant Thornton and Veterans and Allies Business resource groups, as well as a member of the Global Associate of Risk Professionals.
