MBA Alumni Highlight: Sarah Osborne

Sarah Osborne ‘13 is a Senior Financial Services Officer at State Employees Credit Union. Sarah is a Mortgage Loan Originator registered with NMLS, certified with AFCPE as an Accredited Financial Counselor, and holds Insurance Licenses for Life/Health/Personal Lines in NC. Sarah received her undergraduate degree from UNC Greensboro, where she majored in Computer Science, with a minor in Math. Sarah completed her MBA by taking courses on campus in Boone as well as taking evening courses at the Hickory campus. She was employed full time at State Employees Credit Union as she worked on her graduate degree. During her time in the graduate program, Sarah got married and had her first child. She is appreciative of Appalachian’s help and graciousness during this transition in her life.

Sarah enjoys her position with the credit union, noting that it is a non-profit organization which aligns well with her personal values. She enjoys the opportunities she has to lead presentations in local schools where she gets to teach students the basics principles of finance. She is honored to advocate for the members of the credit union to help them better their financial well-being.
