McCurdy, Sisson named to Cratis D. Williams Society

Veronica McCurdy and Amelia Sisson, graduate students in the Walker College of Business, have been named to the Cratis D. Williams Society at Appalachian State University.

McCurdy is part of the Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics program and Sisson is in the Master of Science in Accounting program.

"On behalf of the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies, I write to extend our congratulations," wrote a representative from the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies in a letter to the students.

Inductees are chosen from among the nominees based upon their academic performance, their engagement in their discipline, and their potential for leadership. The recognition is only awarded to the top 2% of students in each graduating class.

Honorees must: be outstanding academically, with a graduate GPA of 4.0; have engaged in or completed a project related to research, creative activities, practical professional experiences, or service as a significant part of their program of study; and have shown clear potential to be leaders in academic, workforce or community life.

Veronica McCurdy

McCurdy is a two-time App State alumna, having earned her undergraduate degree in accounting with a minor in sustainable business in 2022 and a master's degree in Applied Data Analytics with a concentration in sustainability analytics in 2023. She now serves as a sustainability analyst for Deloitte.

McCurdy received the Walker College's top student award in accounting for 2023.

Amelia Sisson

Sisson is also a two-time App State alumna, having earned her BSBA with a major in accounting and a minor in computer information systems in 2022 and a Master of Science in Accounting with a concentration in data analytics in 2023. She has been a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, Appol Corps, and Beta Alpha Psi.
