Appalachian State University economics professor Dr. Dave McEvoy will host a session explaining Amazon's Mechanical Turk (MTurk) on Friday, November 16, 2018. The session will be held at 11:30AM in Peacock Hall Room 4017 on Appalachian's campus.
Amazon's Mturk is a crowdsourcing Internet marketplace that enables individuals and businesses to coordinate the use of human intelligence to perform tasks that computers are currently unable to do. This online workforce is increasingly being used by social scientists for empirical research. According to Wikipedia, thousands of papers that rely on data collected from Mechanical Turk workers are published each year, including hundreds in top ranked academic journals.
