NCAMIC presents $2500 scholarships to Walker College juniors

Appalachian State University students Avery Fink and Catherine Lattimore were recently presented with $2,500 scholarships from the North Carolina Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NCAMIC).

Both students are juniors studying risk management and insurance in Appalachian's Walker College of Business.

NCAMIC President Mike Williams presented the awards.

"Since the beginning of our involvement with AppState, we continue to be impressed by the qualities of the scholarship applicants," said Williams. "It is a testament to the instruction they receive while at AppState."

This marks the fifth year that NCAMIC, the trade association serving the best interests of mutual insurance companies – large and small – across North Carolina, has awarded scholarships to Appalachian risk management and insurance majors. NCAMIC members have also provided financial assistance for students who travel to Bermuda as part of Appalachian's international insurance markets class.
