Jackie Garner, associate director of employer relations and student programming in the Walker College of Business' Career Services Office, has been named a finalist for the 10th Annual Boone Area Chamber of Commerce 4 Under 40 Awards.
Garner is nominated in the Education Professional category. She is one of sixteen emerging leaders recognized this year, selected from nominees across the High Country. The 4 Under 40 Awards honor individuals who demonstrate exceptional professional achievement, community engagement, and leadership potential.
Jackie Garner
At the Walker College, Garner develops and maintains strong relationships with employer partners who actively recruit students for internships and full-time positions. She oversees the planning and execution of all recruiting events for the college as well as serves as an advisor to the Women of Walker program. Garner is a two-time App State graduate, earning her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Master's degree in Higher Education. The majority of her research in graduate school was focused on student success and engagement.
